Welcome to the Health Learning Online (HLO) site provided by the Tasmanian Department of Health. 

This site provides a range of health related online courses for students, volunteers, contractors and employees in health organisations outside of the Department of Health.

If you are:

  • an employee of the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) or the Tasmanian Department of Health
  • a student, locum, contractor or volunteer and have been given a username and password to access the Tasmanian Department of Health network 
Please access online training on the internal  THEO (Tasmanian Health Education Online)learning management system.

For full access to courses you'll need to create a new account.  Here are the steps:

  1. Fill out theNew Accountform with your details.
  2. An email will be immediately sent to your email address.
  3. Read your email, and click on the web link it contains.
  4. Your account will be confirmed and you will be logged in.
  5. Now, select the course you want to participate in (note that for Ambulance Tasmania courses, your educator must enrol you before you will be granted access).
  6. If you are prompted for an "enrolment key" - use the one that your contact has given you. This will "enrol" you in the course.
  7. You can now access the full course. From now on you will only need to enter your personal username and password (in the form on this page) to log in and access any course you have enrolled in.
